Skies of arcadia dreamcast discs1/1/2024 ![]() The character models on this version appear more life-like with depth (although its really just a matter of preference.) On top of that, the sound is accurately porte d. Any HD-TV monitor capable setup will show the artistic rendering of the Dreamcast at its height, with bumpmapping and without the fake cartoony stylizations the gamecube version brings you. It is what truly makes the game fun, especially in 640x480 dpi. The character models are vivid and fluid, surpassing the gamecube version in some aspects. The graphics usually don't make the game but in this case they do. The best part of the game has to do with the graphics. I also enjoyed a very interesting storyboard. I think it's generally around $20 new. This game is really fun, it has alot of characters with interesting backgrounds. His games on Wii, namely Fishing Resort & Ivy the Kiwi, have increased in price recently, so grab Rodea the Sky Soldier while you can on the cheap. It's from Yuji Naka of Sonic the Hedgehog & NiGHTS Into Dreams fame. Not only is it a Wii U exclusive in a sense, it includes the canceled Wii version (the best version). If you want a game for cheap that's likely to increase in value in the future, track down a copy of Rodea the Sky Soldier. Combine that with the fact that the Wii U can upscale all of your Wii games & you'll have a desirable collector's piece down the road. Then you have Wii U games like Devil's Third, Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (PAL), etc., that are incredibly expensive right now. Wii U versions might be worth more than Switch versions since there'll be less out there. For example, Skies of Arcadia got ported to Gamecube with improvements - though I still prefer the Dreamcast version - yet the Dreamcast version is still worth a good deal. Even when games get ported to other systems, as is the case with many Wii U games, the prices still stay up there. Both failed, both are from beloved gaming companies, and both will become very valuable in the coming years. I tell people to snatch up Vita & Wii U stuff when they see it. These are games that used to sit on the shelves at Gamestop/EB Games, nobody wanted them, but look at their prices now. ![]() Some other examples are games like Rule of Rose, Kuon, Cubivore, Deadly Premonition on Xbox 360 & PS3, Afrika, etc. I got a brand new Virtual Boy at Sears for $69.99 when they were being liquidated. Hell, not too many people are fond of the Virtual Boy, but look at the prices of the systems & games. I just can't it's impossible to afford those games now so I stick to my bootlegs for those systems and the occasional original I have here and thereĭreamcast is a failed system that people are fond of. I was able to replace over 200 games of my pirated PS2 library with originals (all of these are original, there's just as many in the back)Īnd to me, my 200+ game SNES library is out of this world with titles like Terranigma, Pocky & Rocky 1 and 2, Illusion of Gaia, Final Fight 3 (tough) and many others, not talking about rare or expensive just games I LOVEīut I can't do the same for Saturn, PS1 and DC I was talking about games like Canon Spike, Cosmic Smash, Psyvariar 2, Trizeal, Under Defeat, Berserk, Giga Wing 2 and stuff.Īlso despite having a massive library of games across many systems, I don't consider myself a collector, just a guy who happens to buy the game he loves.ĭuring the PS1, DC and PS2 days buying original games here in Macedonia was practically impossible, but we had everything thanks to piracy. No one cared about this system for 20 years, what the hell is happening? Is it just the pandemic? Do you think the prices will fall? I don't mean to brag but I got my DC with 18 games for $85 in a competive bid on Ebay and now more than 5 of the games I got with it that day are worth more than $85. I don't even know what to think about this other than I feel sorry for the people who are just getting into it. The prices of Dreamcast games held pretty much steady for 15 years that I have been tracking them and then in the course of a year, they double, triple or quadruple. Soul Calibur is one of the most common games on the system and was always under $20, is now going for $40. Even games that can be played on other platforms like Rayman 2 have shot up. Power Stone 2, I got for $85 last year and now it is closer to $150. Capcom vs Snk was $30 when I bought it in 2018, now it is almost $80. ![]() MvC2 was $30 in 2014 when I bought it and it goes for $175. Marvel vs Capcom was under $40 for 15 years and now it is $75. I bought Skies of Arcadia summer of 2019 for $63 and now it is $125. Sonic Adventure 2 was $30 complete until last year, now it is $90. Sonic Adventure was below $20 forever and now that is a $70 game complete in box. I have been slowly collecting and playing DC games since 2005 and the price increases in the last 6 months to a year are insane. ![]()
